Psychosocial Challenges of Inmates: A Literature Review on District Jail, Aligarh

Abstract: Prisoners often face numerous psychosocial challenges, including mental health disorders, emotional distress, social isolation, and stigmatization. This study explores the psychosocial problems of inmates in District Jail, Aligarh, with a focus on their psychological well-being, social relationships, and reintegration into society. The research utilizes qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze the impact of incarceration on prisoners’ mental health and social functioning. The findings highlight the need for social work interventions, psychological counseling, and policy reforms to improve the well-being of prisoners.
