AI Content Policy

The World Journal of Applied Medical Sciences adheres to the guidelines concerning the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI) in scholarly publishing given out by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).

AI technologies should be used merely as supportive tools during the preparation of a manuscript and must not take the place of human authorship, scientific judgment, or ethical responsibility.

Authorship and Accountability

AI tools should not be recognised as authors and only those individuals who fulfil the journal's authorship requirements can be included as authors. All authors are responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and adherence to ethical standards of all the content, including any content which is assisted by AI tools.

Permissible Use

AI tools may be used for:

Ø  Language editing and grammar correction

Ø  Improving clarity and readability

Ø  Formatting and organization support

The work's scientific meaning or conclusions must not be altered in this way.

Prohibited Use

AI tools must not be used to:

Ø  Generate original research data or results

Ø  Fabricate or falsify data, images, or analyses

Ø  Produce entire manuscripts without substantial human intellectual contribution

Ø  Replace critical scientific interpretation

The misuse of AI is regarded as research misconduct.

Disclosure Requirement

In keeping with the guidance provided by COPE and the ICMJE, the authors are required to clearly state any use of AI tools in the manuscript; failure to disclose such use could result in the paper being rejected, corrected, or retracted.

Editorial and Reviewer Use

Editors and reviewers can use AI tools for some technical assistance (for example, for checking the language or screening for similarity). All editorial decisions and peer-review judgments are made solely by human experts. There must be no entry of confidential manuscript content into non-secure AI platforms.
