Abstract

Rainwater harvesting has been essential throughout history, from primitive techniques to modern ones. Rainwater harvesting began in ancient cultures like the Indus Valley, Roman Empire, and Mesopotamia using rudimentary catchment and storage technologies. It then discusses modern water scarcity solutions using improved filtration, storage, and delivery systems. The paper shows how combining ancient wisdom and modern advancements can provide sustainable water management solutions.
